Greenwich Village Historic Walking Tour (2 hours)

This walking tour focuses on the impact of historic people and events from the 1620s to the 1960s. You will be inspired by the courage of enslaved people, women, immigrants, actors, writers, political leaders, animal advocates, and human rights activists. Prepare to relive the events that shaped our culture from the American Revolution to the civil rights movement. This tour also includes stories about public hangings, criminal trials, assassinations, bank robbers, and mobsters in the Village. Every stop on this tour is different from the Variety Walking Tour, so you can enjoy both tours.

Meet Your Walking Tour Guide

My name is Andrew, and I will be your tour guide. Born and raised in New York, I was always fascinated by the city’s history and inspired by the trailblazers who took a stand for issues that mattered to them. Their courage, creativity, and persistence inspired my volunteer and nonprofit work with prison inmates, people of color, children, women, immigrants, the houseless, and animals. It also led me to become a writer, researcher, and historian. I created these tours to share incredible stories about people and events, hoping they inspire you, too.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s and doctorate in Educational Leadership. I am a registered and licensed New York City tour guide with a star rating from the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs for ranking in the top tier of tour guides for my knowledge of New York City’s history.
